We are seeking talented Information Technology professionals to join the Waste Management team who are motivated to help us transform the way we design, build and use technology. I. Job Summary

Under minimal supervision, is responsible for developing, coding, testing, and debugging new software and producing significant enhancements to existing software. Produces detailed technical documentation related to enhancements/modifications to existing software. Participates in design sessions with Lead Developers to align information technology solutions with business initiatives. Undertakes complex projects requiring additional specialized technical knowledge in software design and testing. Provides end-user support for existing software.

II. Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following.

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each duty satisfactorily. Other ancillary duties may be assigned.

Participates with the development of enterprise-level information technology solutions by analyzing, coding, and testing enhancements/modifications made to existing software applications.

Participates in design/coding sessions, develops solutions, and implements solutions as part of a team. Performs complex analysis of system requirements and of existing business processes and information systems.

Works closely with business analysts and users to determine requirements.

Produces detailed technical documentation related to enhancements/modifications made to existing software applications.

Provides end-user support to resolve issues and responses to suggestions for improvements and enhancements.

Should be able to collaborate with peers in globally distributed environment.

Should be self-starter and take initiative to take assignment to completion.

May work on-call shifts on a rotation basis.

IV. Qualifications

The requirements listed below are representative of the qualifications necessary to perform the job.

A. Education and Experience

Preferred: Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree and Six or more years of related experience.

B. Knowledge, Skills or Abilities Required


Strong working knowledge of iSeries environment, RPGLE, SQLRPGLE, RPG-Free, CLLE, subfiles, physical/logical files, tables/indexes/views, message handling

Customer support skills in an iSeries environment

Working knowledge of the following languages/applications is a plus

o Java, J2EE (JSP/Servlet/JDBC/JMS), Web Services, SOAP, REST, SQL, PL/SQL, XML, XSD, JAXB, JDOM, JavaScript, Applet, Swing, Spring, Struts, Hibernate, iBatis.



Oracle and PL SQL (not required)

Intermediate knowledge or skills in one or more of the following is required:

Knowledge of enterprise coding standards.

Hands on experience in writing more complex code.

Knowledge of software methodologies.

Ability to learn new and emerging technologies.

Ability to work within a group to solve problems, and accomplish tasks.

Ability to adapt to change.

General business knowledge and concepts.
